Review highlights
Based on 794 reviewsFred's Rivertown Alehouse in Snohomish is widely praised for its hearty, flavorful menu featuring standout items like fish and chips with perfectly crunchy breading, generous sandwiches, and unique appetizers such as the popular Mick Jagger fries. Reviewers frequently commend the quality and portion sizes of the food, along with a well-curated selection of single malt Scotch whisky that appeals to enthusiasts. The establishment's charming, character-filled atmosphere complements its long-standing local reputation, dating back over seven decades. Many patrons highlight consistently friendly service and a comfortable dining experience, making it a favored spot for both casual lunches and relaxed evenings.
We got the thai wrap and turkey, bacon panini for lunch. Both were delicious, salads were superb, house-made raspberry vinegariette is a must! However, we will be back for the Mick Jagger fries, they were to die for! Definitely recommend!
I had the halibut & chips (18) & they were fantastic. Decent size pieces of halibut, with a thick & very crunchy breading. Top notch fish & the tarter sauce was great. Many tarter sauces are too heavy on the pickle but this was perfect. The waffle fries were great too. I went right at 5:00 pm so it wasn’t very busy so the food came out fast & was piping hot. I haven’t tried anything else & this is my first time here but I’d recommend it.
Established in 1953, satisfying customers for 70 years, the stories this place could tell. We started with the Mick Jagger fries, holy hell those rock! I had the Reuben, it was piled high with corned beef and really tasty, others ordered the fish and chips, and French dip, no one left hungry or unhappy. The single malt Scotch representation is one of the best I have seen in the larger Seattle area.
This lovely quaint eatery was filled with character. The food was generous and indeed plentiful. Decor fitting to the atmosphere or atmosphere fitting to the decor. If I pass here again I'd certainly come back for seconds.
I've been coming to Fred's for many years and I still love their fish and chips. They're not huge, but you can get two or three pieces. The breading is nice and crunchy over halibut. The waffle fries are a nice touch. The BLT is another great option.I also really enjoy their scotch selection. Pretty extensive. Service has always been good and always friendly.
Nice building. I was at Cathouse a couple doors to the north and they advertised that they will be taking over Fred’s and running it as Fred’s soon. I saw that a company called “Cheers” bought the building a few months back. Hope they are successful there. I used to enjoy Fred’s Alehouse. Used to get really busy there.
Bloody Mary's starting this day!Lauren made these spectacular spicy Mary's.Southwest chicken salad and potato skins.
Great food and lots of options the wanton nachos was amazing and the Ruben sandwich was very filling. The place is a bit understaffed but worth the wait if your patient.
